AI assistants (MCP)

How to connect Speak-Y to Claude Code, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients: one-click install, manual configuration, example prompts, privacy notes and troubleshooting.

The MCP server runs on your machine: your assistant searches recordings and reads transcripts locally, and nothing is uploaded for it to do so. Commands that organise recordings — tags, titles, speaker names, sharing into a team channel — need the Speak-Y app running, ask before they act unless you grant standing permission, and are logged in the app, where they can be turned off.

A client can also be pinned to reading only: add --read-only to the server's args in its MCP config and the changing commands are not offered to it at all.
